  Old Literature being destroyed again!

  the society are at it again.

  witnesses at a local congregation are getting rid of old literature that predates the early 90's.

  These threads pop up all the time and it's always someone talking out of their ass. Here's the deal:

  -The congregation library is supposed to have as complete a library (wrt to WT publications) as possible. They are not taking books out of the library and destroying them.

  -If the literature counter has damaged items, they are to be destroyed. If the lit counter has an excess of old literature, they're supposed to try and use it in the ministry. That typically doesn't happen so it gets destroyed since that's really the only option left. Books from the 90's such as what the OP mentions are probably going to be old looking and yellow so those aren't really useful for anything.

  and the person above mentioned donating books to the library: They were probably not needed in the library so what else were they supposed to do with them?

  There's no conspiracy to get rid of old publications and hide stuff (that's what reprints and the WOL is for :) ). If you want to read the weird shit in Russel's stuff or Franz's wacky number stuff go right ahead. Those books are still in the library.

  the new watchtower public edition titled "the war that chnaged the world" and the awake titled "how to invest your time wisely" for february are up.

  looks like they are still sticking to 1914. they do talk about the war and tie it in with the 1914 interpretation.. watchtower public:.

  exactly, breakfast. I remember a few 1914 talks would quote historians who basically said, 'nobody saw WW1 coming.'

  The reality is that the shit was brewing for a longtime and the assassination was just the flashpoint.

  a friendly message with regard to the use of cell phones.. we have all the reasons to minimise its use, and try to put it on speakerphone whenever possible keeping it away from your head and body.. .

  sorry if i'm stepping on any toes here, but i haven't seen anything positive about home-schooling...at all.

  the notion is that parents are taking advantage of the formative years to inculcate more worthwhile values while protecting their kids from worldly influences.

  they end up with lazy, socially inept, illiterate duds who haven't a clue.

  My cong. has probably 15 kids up to age 12 or so. One by one they started homeschooling and now they are ALL HOMESCHOOLED. They are all barely literate and are very, very unintelligent. It's quite sad to see the squandered potential. I imagine home schooling is pretty easy to a point, but what do you do when they start getting into advanced math or sciences? You're fucked. You can't teach them. All you can do is rely on the book.

  I know ONE person my age who is a home school success. Super smart, near perfect SAT scores, got a college scholarship and took up engineering. Of course he decided to move to South America somewhere and pioneer, but that's besides the point. The only reason he did well is because mom is a retired college professor so she was actually qualified to teach. That's obviously an exception, so he got lucky.

  ummm you guys know that the whole go-bag thing is something FEMA and other organizations have talked about forever, right? They've stressed it a lot more since Hurricane Katrina. WT has sent this information out before over the past couple years. It's nothing new.
